Office Visits at our St. Petersburg Dental Practice

Spilman Dentistry is committed to providing you and your family with safe, gentle, and high-quality dental care. We understand that you or your child may feel anxious about visiting the dentist. We are sensitive to your needs, and it is our goal to make you feel comfortable visiting our practice while we provide the best possible care.

Your first visit is all about you: your comfort, your happiness, and your health

During your first visit, we will review your dental and medical history forms, and take X-rays of your teeth and mouth. Then Dr. Spilman will meet with you to discuss your X-rays, help you create your individual treatment plan, and answer any questions you may have. He is here to listen to your overall goals, whether it be major dental changes or simply how to maintain oral health.

At your next visit, one of our hygienists will clean and polish your teeth, and inspect your teeth and gums for cavities or early signs of tooth decay, gingivitis, and oral cancer. We take the time to educate our patients on all available options, as we want to empower patients to make informed decisions regarding their oral health.

Bring your smile, but also remember to bring these to your first appointment

  • Your completed patient information form
  • Your photo ID, and if you have dental benefits please also bring your insurance card

Regular checkups are an important part of maintaining a healthy smile!

The American Dental Association recommends a visit to your dentist every six months for regular checkups and routine teeth cleanings to keep your teeth and gums healthy.

We understand you have a busy schedule, so when you’re preparing to visit our St. Petersburg dental office, please remember your appointments can last between 45 and 90 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is dentistry?

At Spilman Dentistry, we view dentistry as the art and science of taking care of our patients’ overall health through the teeth and oral cavity.

What should you look for when choosing a dentist?

Every patient looks for something different—a variety of treatments, office location convenience, or the overall energy of an office. Drs. Spilman and our team offer all these things, as well as an environment that is friendly and trustworthy. Dr. Jeffery Spilman also has an exceptional amount of experience in general dentistry and advanced treatment procedures. He is certified through the Academy of Implant Dentistry and the International Academy of Facial Aesthetics, a testament to his dedication to enhancing his clinical skills.

Why is visiting the dentist so important?

Our mouths provide a window to our overall health. Many issues that we find in the mouth give us clues to what may be happening in the entire body. Drs. Spilman will work with you to uncover dental issues you may not know exist, in addition to preventing dental disease before it starts.
