The team here at Jeffery A. Spilman, DDS, hopes that your Summer is off to a great start and that you have had plenty of reasons to smile. We also hope that you are managing to avoid all those tempting sugary treats that are out there so that you won’t have to come in for any restorative dentistry work this Fall! But if you do ever need to treat decay, we have you covered. You see, traditionally, cavities were filled with a metal amalgam, which was not only unattractive but also contained mercury. But at our St. Petersburg dentist’s office, we’re proud to say we have been metal-free since 1993! Around here, we use only tooth-colored composite resin fillings, which are both more attractive and safer to use than traditional metal fillings. In today’s post, we wanted to share a video link from the folks at the American Dental Association, that explores some of the benefits of tooth-colored fillings. Check out the clip below, and then be sure to get in touch to schedule your next appointment with us!
