Composite Tooth-Colored Fillings Are Here
Odds are good that you will experience some level of tooth decay at some point in your life. For many folks, this happens in childhood. Regardless of when it strikes, you will want to take care of the problem discreetly and move on.
In the old days, cavities were filled with a metal amalgam, which was effective but attracted unwanted attention and contained mercury. Lucky for you, at Jeffery A. Spilman DDS, we have been metal-free since 1993!
For our modern dental filling procedure we will numb the affected tooth and create a small opening in it, getting rid of all of the decay in the cavity. Once the decay is removed, we will then fill the hole in with a composite resin.
Our tooth-colored composite resin fillings are much more attractive and safer to use than conventional metal fillings.
Root Canals Are Nothing To Fear With Us
If you ever should need a root canal treatment, we promise to make it easy for you.
Remember: when tooth decay reaches the soft pulp of a tooth, a simple filling will not be enough to prevent infection and ensure that the health of the tooth can be restored.
At time like these, we will perform a root canal, which will rid the tooth of infection, replace the tooth’s pulp with an inert material, and seal it off again.
Our root canals will actually alleviate the pain you’ve been experiencing rather than create more!
Dental Crowns, Bridges, Dentures, & More
Here’s what you need to know: these restorative components will help your mouth look, function, and feel like it would naturally following tooth loss, a root canal, or some other similar situation. When you are here for your session with Dr. Spilman he will go over all the great options available to you. But we can tell you that, nowadays, dentures are better than ever and we can actually secure them with a dental implant procedure. No more slipping and sliding!
