Subtle Tooth-Colored Fillings
For this procedure we will numb the affected tooth and create a small opening in it, getting rid of all of the decay in the cavity. Once the decay is removed, we will then fill the hole in with a composite resin.
In earlier eras, cavities were filled with a metal amalgam, which was effective but looked bad and contained mercury. But get this: at Jeffery A. Spilman DDS, we have been metal-free since 1993!
Nowadays we use only tooth-colored composite resin fillings, which are much more attractive and safer to use than conventional metal fillings.
Pain-Free Root Canals
It seldom comes to this point, especially if you are coming to see us every 3-6 months, but if you ever should need a root canal treatment, we promise to go easy on you.
Here’s the thing: when tooth decay reaches the soft pulp of a tooth, a simple filling will not be enough to prevent infection and ensure that the health of the tooth can be restored.
In these cases, we will perform a root canal, which will rid the tooth of infection, replace the tooth’s pulp with an inert material, and seal it off again.
Crowns, Bridges, and Dentures
These are restorative components that will help your mouth look, function, and feel like it would naturally following tooth loss, a root canal, or some other scenario. These days, dentures are better than ever and we can help you secure them with a dental implant procedure. When you are here for your session with Dr. Spilman he will go over all the great options available to you. We invest heavily in the sort of tools, training, and technology that can get you smiling once again.
