Laser Gum Treatment Gets Gums in Shape (Video)

The bad news is, gum disease is the leading cause of tooth loss among adults. The good news is, a deep cleaning treatment called scaling and root planing is often enough to return your gums to health if it’s performed in the early stages of the disease.

If you’re not a fan of scraping – and who is? – you’ll be glad to know we use a laser for this treatment. The laser breaks up bacteria so it’s easier to remove, making the procedure quicker, more comfortable, and more effective. The laser can also painlessly remove inflamed gum tissue, if necessary. Watch this video to hear more about our laser gum treatment.

We check for signs of gum disease during every dental exam in our St. Petersburg, FL dentist office. But if your gums are red, tender, or bleed after brushing, don’t wait until your next exam. The earlier we treat gum disease, the better. Call Jeffery Spilman, D.D.S. at 727-645-4727.
