For A Brighter Smile, Let Your Dentist Whiten Your Teeth
Welcome back to another edition of our oral health blog!
At Jeffery A. Spilman DDS, we strive to be a family dental practice in every sense.
This means that, whatever stage you are at in life, we are excited to provide convenient dental solutions for you, your spouse, your parents, and your little ones.
Our St. Petersburg, Florida office offers everything from treatment for gum disease to cosmetic procedures, and preventative exams and cleanings.
Because many of our patients are looking to improve the color of their teeth, we also provide several great office-guided whitening solutions.
A Hazy Shade Of Yellow
Sometimes your teeth will lose their shine through no fault of your own.
Your smile darkens a bit with every passing year.
In other instances when yellowing occurs, you are very much to blame for the stains.
Think about your daily habits for a minute and you will understand what we mean.
After all, what would a Florida morning be without a couple cups of coffee or tea?
Those of us who like living on the edge might even enjoy a soft drink with lunch or a glass of red wine after dinner.
And with seasonal fruits and vegetables that seldom go out of season, our Florida meals are likely to contain foods rich in color.
The bottom line is that so many of these foods and beverages will take their toll on the natural color of your teeth over time, even with proper oral hygiene practices.
We know that having teeth that have yellowed or darkened can make you self-conscious and less self-confident.
But at Jeffery A. Spilman DDS, we have the tools to turn things around for you.
Over-The-Counter Solutions Are Full Of Problems
Most over-the-counter kits or whitening toothpastes won’t do much of anything to improve your situation.
It is bad enough that they are not effective like they claim to be.
But the worst part is that they expect you to know how to manage the whitening process and they leave you with inadequate tools to do so.
When you think about it, how could a mass-produced, one-size-fits-all whitening tray properly fit YOUR unique set of teeth?
What’s the big deal about that?
It’s a pretty big deal because this can cause health problems for your gums when the whitening solution doesn’t stay where it is supposed to (on your teeth) and spills over onto your soft tissues.
You might think that we are biased but the truth is that dentist-guided teeth whitening is always going to provide you with safer methods and better end results
At our St. Petersburg, FL dental office we have a few good solutions that we can facilitate for you.
Zoom! Chairside Whitening Services
Our in-office treatments involve a combination of Zoom! whitening gel and the application of a low-intensity light.
The procedure is completely safe, with trays custom-made to fit only your mouth.
And each session takes only fifteen minutes.
We can assure you that, after the three applications you will receive during your visit, you’ll notice a big difference in your smile.
Zoom! Directed At-Home Whitening
Under our direction, you can now improve your smile with at-home applications of either DayWhite or NiteWhite gels in your custom trays.
DayWhite is designed to be applied for 15 minutes twice a day for a two week period.
NiteWhite is designed to be worn overnight or for a 2-4 hour application during the day.
The advantage of this Zoom! method is that it can be completed in the comfort of your own home and on your own schedule.
